Creatives and urban spatial practices: fieldwork in Brno
This seminar is about Aaron Mo’s fieldwork in Brno, Czech Republic. The objective is to draw attention to the divergence among creatives’ (i.e. those practicing in The Arts) in ‘non-world cities’, and to understand their differing interaction within the build environment. Suggesting the necessity for exploring and documenting the following:
1) The different subgroups of creatives, via their private (for creative production) and public (for the creative market) workplace; and,
2) Differing environments for living, working, and socializing practices;
This seminar will discuss some of his findings from my 6-month ethnographic studies in Brno, the obstacles found during fieldwork, and how to improve the method for the Manchester case study (the comparative study is to aimed to find the need for contextual sensitivity).
